The patient was suffering from multiple organ dysfunction, including failure of her kidneys. Her condition forced her to alter her life around hemodialysis, and later on dialysate for the peritoneal area. Over the course of the 80 days she spent in Hospital, the life of her was changed forever. Angelica was on dialysis for over a decade and half of that time before she was able to undergo the kidney transplant. The kidney that would be donated to her came from none other than her mother. Angelica Hale was able to undergo a kidney transplant alongside her mother on the 13th September 2013. The procedure was conducted at Emory University Hospital, and Children's Healthcare of Atlanta Egleston. Angelica Hale, a young teenager from Atlanta, who always wanted to be an actress as well as a performer and is currently working towards this dream.
